Sailing with the Clippers: 6/20/13 - 6/26/13
It appears that the Clippers set their anchor at the beginning of June and forgot to pull it back up because they are going nowhere fast. Yet again, Columbus finished the week with a losing record, going 2-4 in six contests against Pawtucket, Lehigh Valley and Norfolk. Now seven games below .500 at 36-43, the Clippers sit 16 games behind front-runner Indianapolis in the International League West.

Crushers battle raindrops, lose 6-4
After several days of severe storms, Lake Erie and the Frontier Greys were finally able to finish Tuesday's game, losing 6-4, but game number two of the doubled header was another rainout. In front of one of the largest crowds seen at All Pro Freight Stadium this season at 3,140, rain put everyone on hold again Wednesday.

Second Thoughts Game #77: Indians 4, Orioles 3
Scott Kazmir was absolutely brilliant for the second consecutive start, limiting a good Orioles offense to just one run over seven innings. Joe Smith came in and blew the lead in the eighth but the bats rallied for two runs in the ninth and then Vinnie Pestano slammed the door in the ninth for a much needed 4-3 Indians win. The IBI's Michael Hattery shares his "second thoughts" on the game...

The Indians had a busy night on the farm as everyone was in action, although Columbus was suspended after three innings because of rain. Wonderkid Clint Frazier was back in the lineup on Wednesday after his multi-hit debut on Tuesday, and Joey Wendle continues to hit well at Carolina. Indians rally late, defeat Orioles 4-3 on a big comeback win
Hall of Famer Ty Cobb once said, “Speed is a great asset.” For the Indians on Wednesday, speed would prove to be a huge asset when it would matter the most. Down 3-2 in the ninth inning, the Tribe rallied back to steal a win from the Orioles with a 4-3 victory in Baltimore.

Sabourin hitting his way onto prospect radar
Signed as an undrafted free agent, Carolina Mudcats first baseman Jerrud Sabourin has developed into a true underdog story. The model of consistency, Sabourin leads the Carolina League in batting average at .318 and is fourth on the team in hits and plays great defense at first base. Sabourin was recently honored for his efforts with a selection to the Carolina League All-Star team. The IBI's Zachary Francis recently caught up with him to see how his season is going.

After a solid opening weekend, the AZL Indians kicked off their second week of play Tuesday against the AZL Brewers. On-Deck with the Captains: 6/19/13 - 6/25/13
Second-half turnarounds are commonly mentioned in baseball, and the case is no different for the Lake County Captains. Since the All-Star break, the team has posted a 5-1 record with some solid outings from the starting pitching staff. The offense has added a number of home runs as they hit eight this past week, so it seems things may be starting to come together for the 28-45 squad.

Call to the Bullpen: Episode 1.11
Call to the Bullpen has moved to a new show time! Tune in tonight and from now on on Wednesday nights at 10:00 pm ET. Don't look now, but the Indians have won four straight series and are still in second place within striking distance of the Tigers. Now a long, hard road trip will test them and see if they can stay afloat despite their recent struggles away from Progressive Field. The bullpen will play a huge role in whatever success they have. However, they've recently become somewhat unreliable for the Tribe due to injuries and inconsistency. Can they get back on track and go back to being the dominant force they've been in the past? Jake and Hayden discuss all that and more tonight!

Second Thoughts Game #76: Indians 3, Orioles 6
Indians ace Justin Masterson had a perfect game through four innings. Slider, sinker, everything was virtually unhittable. He was touched up for a run in the fifth, but through six innings he looked masterful. Then everything fell apart in the seventh as in a blink of an eye the game was tied and in another blink the Indians were losing by three. The IBI's Jake Dungan gives his second thoughts on the tough defeat...
