Second Thoughts: When Game 7's go wrong
Prior to last night, it had been sixteen years since a Miami team won a decisive Game 7 in a major championship series. If you’re hazy on the details of that prior occasion, just recall the color teal and recoil in disgust. Yes, there are worse feelings than watching a regret-free LeBron James dance around in bliss. The IBI's Andrew Clayman takes a look at MLB's awful postseason setup with determining home field advantage.

2013 MLB Draft: June 21st signing update
We are now officially down to three weeks away from the July 12th signing deadline, and the Indians have 16 players officially signed with a few more coming before the deadline. It is shaping up to be a busy weekend for the Indians as several draft picks are expected to officially sign. At least three players are expected to sign on Friday or sometime this weekend, including some big names. But one high profile player has decided not to sign, which comes as a big surprise. Around The Farm: June 20, 2013
With both the Columbus and Akron offenses hitting the skids, Around The Farm needed some extra help to remain interesting Thursday night. Luckily the start of the Arizona League, the return of Lake County from the All-Star break, and offensive fireworks for Mahoning Valley provided some fodder for us. The night was highlighted by a Lake County catcher showing off his power in a big way. To find out who it is and all you need to know about the night in the minor leagues, join Jim Piascik and go Around The Farm.

Rein's complete game leads Crushers to 5-0
Twenty-eight batters. That’s all Matt Rein had to get through as he delivered what was without question the best performance out of a Crushers starting pitcher this season. Rein carried a no-hit bid into the sixth inning as he went on to pitch a one-hit, complete game shutout and never even broke a sweat in the Crushers' easy 5-0 defeat of the CornBelters.

Long ball powers Captains to 11-3 victory
The Lake County Captains kicked off the second half of the season with a handful of home runs as they hit five over the fence in an 11-3 victory over the Dayton Dragons on Thursday. Dylan Baker (3-5, 4.08) was sent to the bump for the Captains to counter Dayton’s Nick Travieso (1-2, 6.75). Baker tamed the Dragons for a solid start with some help from his offense.

Scrappers offense explodes in 14-2 win
Following a night in which the Scrappers scored seven runs mostly due to the struggles of the Jamestown Jammers’ pitching and defense, the offense officially arrived Thursday at Dwyer Stadium, unleashing 16 hits and ultimately sealing an easy 14-2 victory. Turley, Thunder finish sweep, shut out Aeros 1-0
Coming into this three-game series with the Trenton Thunder, the Akron Aeros were riding high after going over .500 for the first time since May 12. Now, as the Thunder leave town, the Aeros have more work to do. The Thunder (36-35) finished a sweep of the Aeros (34-37) with a 1-0 victory Thursday night at Canal Park. One night after the two teams combined for 25 hits offense was at a premium, with only nine hits falling in all night long.

Sailing with the Clippers: 6/13/13 - 6/19/13
Just when Clippers fans didn’t think it could get any worse, it did. Yet again, Columbus finished the week with a losing record (2-5) and have plummeted to 34-39 overall. After splitting a four-game series at Charlotte, the Clippers have lost three in a row to the Pawtucket Red Sox and are in danger of getting swept for the fifth time this season. Second Thoughts Game #71: Indians 6, Royals 3
The Indians entered this game trying to win a series in which they blew the first game late and came back late in the second game to steal the win. At 35-35 a win would get them back over the .500 mark and mark their third straight series win. So there was a lot riding on this game and the team came through, led by Justin Masterson and Michael Brantley. Join Michael Goodman as he gives his Second Thoughts on the big win.

Around The Farm: June 19, 2013
After Tim Fedroff tore up the minor leagues in 2012, many expected great things from the outfielder in 2013. Fedroff got off to a slow start, but that is never a reason to give up hope completely. Lately, the outfielder has been coming around and Wednesday night was no exception. To see exactly how Fedroff fared last night, which Akron outfielder continues to prove he needs a promotion, and the rest of the action in the minor leagues, join Jim Piascik and go Around The Farm.
