Second Thoughts Game #5: Rays 6, Indians 0
The Indians lost a rough one to the Rays on Saturday night by a score of 6-0. They were shut out for the second straight game, Trevor Bauer really struggled with his control, and Lou Marson took a shot at home plate that he is still probably recovering from this morning. The IBI's Jim Berdysz chimes in with his "Second Thoughts" on last night's ugly loss.

Clippers fall 5-3 in Matsuzaka's debut
INDIANAPOLIS, IN – The chance of a series sweep fell short for the Columbus Clippers Saturday as they came up with their first loss of the season, losing 5-3 to the Indianapolis Indians. The much anticipated start of Daisuke Matsuzaka lived up to hype for the first four innings, but it shortly fell off after.

Mudcats take series with 4-3 win vs. Dash
After an impressive opening night win over the Winston Salem Dash, the Carolina Mudcats took the field looking for a repeat. Starting right-handed pitcher Jacob Lee made his Carolina League debut and the Mudcats came back late to win 4-3.

Indians fall 6-0 in Trevor Bauer's debut
Right-hander Trevor Bauer made his Indians debut on Saturday though is performance was less than spectacular as he walked seven batters across five innings of work. To make matters worse, the Indians' offense struggled to consistently get men on base, and the Tribe lost its third straight game, 6-0, to the Tampa Bay Rays. Join the IBI's Nathan Kemp as he recaps all of the action from Saturday's contest.

Aguilar, Latimore go deep in Aeros' 7-5 loss to Mets
The Akron Aeros and the Binghamton Mets both broke out of their offensive slumps Saturday afternoon, but unfortunately for the home team, the Mets broke out a little bit more. The Aeros suffered their first 0-3 start to a season since 1997 as Akron fell to Binghamton 7-5 at Canal Park. The B-Mets hit the ball hard all day and busted out for 14 hits and seven runs after starting the year with consecutive 2-1 wins.

Minor Happenings: Naquin shines in Carolina debut
The first edition of Minor Happenings each year typically does not post until the first Thursday after the season opens, but there is a lot to talk about and get everyone caught up on. In today’s special edition of the Happenings, I give an update on Tony Wolters’ move to catcher, introduce Robert Whitenack, break down Tyler Naquin’s great opening night showing, and have all kinds of quotes from the front office on the catchers in the system and where some of the missing players are to start the season.

Second Thoughts: Game #4:Rays 4, Indians 0
The heavily-advertised Indians offense faltered a bit on Friday as no Indians were able to muster much offense other than Michael Bourn. Right-hander Zach McAllister made his season debut and allowed two earned runs across six innings of work, yet the Indians count never mount enough offense to challenge the Rays. Join the IBI's Jake Dungan as he looks back at the game and offers his Second Thoughts.

Clippers start season off with two wins
After a low-scoring outing in their 2013 debut, the Clippers’ bats came alive in Indianapolis in game two of their series against the Indianapolis Indians. Indians’ center fielder Alex Presley and shortstop Jordy Mercer started off the game with back to back doubles, giving Indianapolis a quick 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning.

Mudcats "Stars" shine bright in opening night 10-1 win
On a perfect night for the 2013 home opener, the Carolina Mudcats took the field against the Winston Salem Dash and exploded for ten runs in a 10-1 blowout win. Tyler Naquin just missed hitting for the cycle and right-hander Cody Anderson as well as shortstop Francisco Lindor all impress on opening night.
