Another year has come and gone, and while the 2012 Cleveland Indians did not come together as planned there were still some bright moments during the journey. 2012 is over, and as we look back on it one more time here on New Year's Eve, it is time for an Indians Baseball (Baseball!) Insider year-end recap piece. To avoid a generic, boring article, however, the IBI's Jim Piascik framed the year around Pink Floyd's famous The Dark Side of the Moon album. Check out one of the best pieces of the year after the jump...

It wasn't a busy night for Cleveland Indians prospects, but the boys down under were busy trying to one-up each other with their power production. Jose Ramirez returned to his multi-hit form with a three-hit performance, and Carlos Santana continued to hit in the DWL playoffs. Join Jim Pete in his final ATF of the year, after the jump...

There's nothing like a list to spur a debate, so join us in our lively banter with our weekly polls! Today's poll focuses on the best Indians' first baseman of all time. Join Jim Pete after the jump...to find out the who made the cut...
Out with the old and in with the new. That seems to be the motto of the Indians of late as they have had a much different approach this offseason than in recent offseasons. With the new year drawing near, Tony looks at what may be next for the Indians in their offseason pursuit to improve the club. He also talks about the new TV deal with Fox Sports, the importance of Nick Hagadone, and why adding a veteran starter could help more than you think.
The only player in the Caribbean that played and didn't get a hit tonight was Asdrubal Cabrera. While there wasn't a lot of splash with regards tot he offense, Zeke Carrera continued a solid winter league campaign, while newcomer Luis Hernandez continued his solid VWL with three hits. Carlos Santana also continued his playoff push with another hit on Saturday night. Join Jim Pete with the Around the Farm rundown.
Today we continue on with our eighth batch of 2013 scouting videos. We shot tons of video of over 135 players this season, and in today's batch of videos we feature Fabio Martinez, Jorge Martinez, Josh McAdams, Zach McAllister, D'Vone McClure, Yhoxian Medina, Ryan Merritt, Carlos Moncrief, Alex Monsalve, and Luis Morel.
Some people work to live, while others live to work. Cleveland Indians’ centerfielder LeVon Washington prefers the latter. After a disappointing 2012 campaign that was cut very short because of a hip injury, Washington is hard at work this offseason and has focused 100% of his effort on making a big comeback in 2013.
So much for a slumping Carlos Santana. The switch-hitter's hitting prowess was on display again as Santana once again put together a very strong performance in a DWL playoff game. Plus, Asdrubal Cabrera has a nice night at the plate and Jesus Aguilar makes a rare appearance in the VWL. The IBI's Steve Orbanek recaps all the action and provides all of the night's statistics as he takes you Around the Farm.
It was somewhat of a quiet week in the various winter leagues because of the Christmas holiday, but there is still plenty of action to recap. The round robin playoffs began in the Dominican Winter League on Thursday while the regular seasons will be ending on Sunday in both the Puerto Rican Winter League and the Venezuelan Winter League. Plus, Chun-Hsiu Chen completed a strong winter season in the Asia Winter Baseball League this past week. The IPI's Steve Orbanek has all the details in this week's edition of the Winter Ball Notebook.
The pending purchase of SportsTime Ohio by Fox Sports Ohio became official Friday as it was announced that FOX has purchased the Cleveland sports network for an estimated $230 million. FOX will now have the broadcast rights to Cleveland Indians games for the next 10 seasons, which is estimated to be worth around $400 million.
Here is a listing of Cleveland Indians' players that were released or elected to voluntarily retire over the year. This listing along with all the rest of the final transactions will be located under the "Transactions" tab and under "2012" for easy reference in the future. Good luck to all of the players who have moved on from the organization!
Carlos Santana looked like the Carlos Santana we all want to see in 2013 Thursday night, hitting a home run and drawing two walks. He was not the only Cleveland player making waves around the world, though, as Jose Ramirez, Ryan Battaglia, and others impressed. Join Jim Piascik as he checks in to the action last night and goes Around The Farm.
