The 2012 Rule 5 Draft is exactly six weeks from today. The draft will be held on December 6th in Nashville, TN and there are lots of interesting Indians minor league names that are up for roster protection. While there are few if any slam dunk roster decisions this offseason, there are a lot of players that could get consideration and be plucked from the Indians system in the draft. The World Series kicked off last night, but there were other games going on involving professional baseball players out in Arizona, the Dominican Republic and Venezuela. Jesus Aguilar's struggles continued last night, Alex Monsalve is still adjusting to more advanced pitching, Matt Packer is on the mend, and old friend Vidal Nuno continues to impress in winter ball. Fresh off an Eastern League Championship, the Akron Aeros made more waves on Wednesday when they introduced new owner Ken Babby. The 32-year-old Babby is the owner of fast Forward Sports Group and will replace former team owners Mike and Greg Agganis.

In today's notebook he looks at the players that played on the Arizona Parallel League team (advanced Instructs) and provides news, updates, and insights on players like LeVon Washington, Jordan Smith, Bryson Myles, Jerrud Sabourin, Mason Radeke, Kyle Bellows, and many others.
New Indians manager Terry Francona is still working through the interview process to finalize his coaching staff for the 2013 season. Other than Sandy Alomar Jr and Brad Mills, it is unknown as to what other coaches will be joining his staff. The most important decision Francona makes probably is who comes in to be the new pitching coach, and Adam McGavin chimes in with his thoughts on that and lists several potential candidates that Francona may be considering for the job.
It was a quiet night on the Indians' front with players in action last night thanks to off nights in the Dominican Winter League and Venezuela Winter League. But, the Arizona Fall League was back in action after a day off on Sunday and Tyler Holt and Shawn Armstrong continued their good showing.

The focus has shifted to the action in all the offseason fall and winter leagues, news and opinion articles on the big league team relating to their coaching pursuit, free agency moves, the winter meetings, the Rule 5 Draft, etc, and of course tons of information on the farm system.
With the Arizona Fall League taking the day off, and with Leones del Caracas getting postponed, there wasn't much action for current Indians on Sunday. There were still two players from the advanced levels that performed, and with mixed results.
