Second Thoughts: Game #95-Orioles 4, Indians 3
The Indians are in a free fall, and at the wrong time. The Indians lost to the Baltimore Orioles last nigh, their fourth in a row, and fell under .500 for the first time since April. The Indians rallied in the ninth, behind 4-0, but fell a run short, losing to the Orioles, 4-3. Is this the end, with the Tigers playing so well? Jim Berdysz asks "What if," after the jump...

Around the Farm: July 22, 2012
2012 fourth round draft pick, D'vone McClure belted his first professional home run in a three-hit performance in only his second professional ball game. Felix Sterling continued one of the strangest up-and-down seasons of recent memory. The top spot of ATF goes to a guy that spent a whole lot of time this season in the top three. Find out who...after the jump...

Garcia provides dramatics in 2-1 victory
A struggling Robel Garcia provided a walk-off victory, as the Mahoning Valley Scrappers would split their series with a dramatic 2-1 victory on Sunday Night. Garcia had already been demoted from Lake County, and has been struggling in Mahoning before his walk-off hit.

Captains break three-game streak with 10-6 win
The Lake County Captains were able to break free of a three game losing skid on Sunday afternoon with a 10-6 victory over the Cedar Rapids Kernels. Felix Sterling broke from his recent role as the long man in the Lake County bullpen to toe the rubber as manager Dave Wallace’s starting pitcher on the afternoon. Wallace’s decision to hand the pill to Sterling proved to be just what the doctor ordered for a Captains team that had been scuffling on this road swing.

Mudcats take series, but can't sweep Hillcaps
The Carolina Mudcats could not complete the sweep as they fell to the Lynchburg Hillcats 7-4 on Sunday afternoon. Mudcat starter Michael Goodnight had one of his worst outings of the year as he found it hard to find the strike zone all day. In his four innings of work Goodnight would walk six batters.

Guilmet blows rare save, as Aeros lose in ninth
The Richmond Flying Squirrels got a three run rally in the bottom of the ninth innings to steal a 4-3 win away from the Akron Aeros on Sunday. Akron controlled the game through the eighth inning, leading Richmond 2-0. The Flying Squirrels got their first run in the bottom of the eighth, but sealed the deal in the ninth with back-to-back home runs on closer Preston Guilmet.

2012 AZL Indians Notebook: 7/14-7/21
It was a successful week for the AZL Indians, as they had their longest win streak, and moved above .500 for the first time this season. Offensively, there may not be a better level in the entire system. Take a look at IPI's exclusive, first-hand take on the rookie league with beat writer Sean Mahon, who attends every game. Who's getting ready to get promoted? Find out...after the jump...

Tribe Happenings: Starting Rotation Shuffle
The "hardest working man on the internet" is taking a much-needed and well-deserved vacation, and while you can be sure to see him on occasion this week, he's taking the weekend off. Jim Pete is grabbing the reigns of Tribe Happenings this Sunday, and he'll be talking about Roberto Hernandez, and how he may affect the rotation, Cody Allen emergence and Carlos Santana's struggles. Join Jim with this week's Tribe Happenings, after the jump...

Ezequiel Carrera is hitting .317 over his last 44 games, and Tim Fedroff is hitting .384 over his last 20 games. Both are making a play for a potential bench role this year, should an injury force the Indians hand. Chris Seddon and Jake Sisco continue to pitch well, while Mahoning Valley hits like garbage. The top slot goes to perhaps my favorite player in 2012. Find out who that is, after the jump...

Mudcats use good pitching and rain to win
The Carolina Mudcats pulled out a 4-2 win against the Lynchburg Hillcats on a rainy night at Five County Stadium. For the second straight night the start of the game would be delayed as a rain storm pushed the start time back 31 minutes and then caused the game to end after the eighth. The Mudcats pitchers didn’t mind, as for the second straight night they turned in a great performance.

Captains Rally falls short against Kernals, 4-3
A late-inning rally effort fell short for the Lake County Captains as they could not overcome the Cedar Rapids Kernals on Saturday night, resulting in a 4-3 loss. All-Star right-hander Cody Anderson graced the mound for the Captains against Cedar Rapids righty Dan Reynolds.

Mahoning Valley offense jammed up by Jamestown
The Scrapper offense probably wishes they could have stayed a few extra nights in Jamestown. After collecting 15 hits in Friday’s twin bill against the Jammers in Jamestown, they only collected two hits at Eastwood Field in a 5-2 loss Saturday night.

Pagnozzi blast drops IronPigs, 4-3
It was a quick, dramatic and well-pitched contest on Saturday night as the Columbus Clippers (52-49) defeated the Lehigh Valley IronPigs (55-46) by a final score of 4-3. Matt Pagnozzi provided the heroics, with a ninth inning homer to give the Clippers the victory.
