Elvis has entered the building...
Low-A Lake County left-handed pitcher Elvis Araujo jumped onto the prospect scene last season with a great year after missing the two previous seasons recovering from elbow surgery. This season has been a bit of a rollercoaster ride for him, but Stephanie Metzger talked to him yesterday and he feels good and is just working to get better.

AZL Indians pitching and defense bedazzle Royals
It is about time. The defense and pitching finally meshed last night as lefty Luis Lugo threw the game of the year for the AZL Indians to date and helped lead his team to a 3-1 win over the AZL Royals. Lugo went five innings giving up just two hits and one walk.

Around the Farm: July 11, 2012
Triple and Double A both played their all-star games on Wednesday Night, as several members of the Aeros and Clippers played, with mixed results. Aaron Siliga and Charlie Valerio continued their hot play at Mahoning Valley, while Jake Lowery is starting to rebound a bit in Lake County. The guy at the top of ATF isn't unfamiliar with his perch, but it's been awhile. He'll introduce himself...after the jump...

Have a heart for Hagadone
Indians left-handed reliever Nick Hagadone suffered a self inflicted hand injury last Friday, and may be lost for the season. The Indians were not happy about it as they placed him on the minor league disqualified list which keeps him from getting paid, and now the Players Union may step in and file a grievance. With everything that is going on, Adam McGavin chimes in and says that while Hagadone has opened himself up to being labeled a hothead, trying hard is easier to forgive.

Scrappers lose 13 inning marathon in Lowell 5-4
Despite holding a pair of one run leads late, the Scrappers lost a 13 inning thriller to the Lowell Spinners 5-4. Luis Dejesus got the start for the Scrappers. He has been nothing short of spectacular this season, entering play on Wednesday carrying the second lowest ERA in the New York-Penn League at 0.82 in 22 innings of work.

Fishing for Mudcats: "How to generate momentum..."
The Carolina Mudcats stormed the second half in the Carolina League to open up the season, but lost their momentum during the Fourth of July festivities. With Jesus Aguilar heading to the Future's game, and Jeremie Tice and Tyler Holt getting promoted, the Muddies struggled to maintain their high-second-half-level of play. Grab the ole' fishin' pole with Jim's weekly Mudcat's Notebook...

Hardworking Lindor looks to finish the season strong
Low-A Lake County shortstop and unanimous #1 Indians prospect Francisco Lindor has had a very good first full professional season to date. He's lived up to all of the accolades bestowed upon him coming out the draft, and has impressed everyone from the fans to the Indians organization with his play this year. With two months left in the season, he wants to finish strong, continue to get better, and not let up.

Ranking the Cleveland Indians’ Roster at the All-Star Break
As we hit the All-Star break, the 44-41 Indians have used 35 different players on their active roster. Obviously, some were better than others, but who was the best? Who was the worst? How high does Lou Marson's hot streak have him? How much has Ubaldo Jimenez improved his stock? As always, Jim Piascik gives his opinion as he sifts through all 35 players and ranks them from worst to first.
