Around the Farm: June 27, 2012
Nick Weglarz is some kind of hot of late at Double-A Akron. Dare we say he is back? Felix Sterling has really struggled of late with Low-A Lake County. Has his prospect value taken a tumble? Stevie-O highlights both players and more in another edition of IPI's original daily look "Around the Farm"...

Clippers don't get any breaks, lose 3-1
In well-pitched games, it’s often about which team gets the breaks. On Wednesday night, the Columbus Clippers just couldn’t buy one. The Clippers (39-41) fell to the Norfolk Tides (40-41) by a final score of 3-1 Wednesday. While both pitching staffs had stellar performances, the game was also influenced by an error, a ball boy, and a very close call by the umpires.

No end in sight for offensive woes, Scrappers fall 2-1
It appeared that the Scrappers offense was poised to break out of their early season slump after showing some positive signs on Tuesday. Looks can be deceiving. The offense provided little positive to talk about on Wednesday, and despite solid pitching efforts, the Scrappers dropped their fifth game in six nights, losing 2-1 to the Williamsport Crosscutters.

Defensive issues plague AZL Indians in 7-3 loss

Second Thoughts: Game #73 - Indians 4, Yankees 6
The Indians had another rough one last night losing to the Yankees by a score of 6-4. The game was never really much of a contest as the Yankees had every break go their way and they executed in just about every scoring opportunity, and the Indians offense continues to struggle. Adam McGavin shares his "second thoughts" on another disappointing game in the Bronx...

Garcia, Sea Wolves beat Aeros again
If he could, Ramon Garcia would pitch against the Akron Aeros every time he takes the mound. The Erie lefty beat the Aeros again on Tuesday night, as the SeaWolves spoiled the opener of Akron’s eight game homestand with an 8-5 victory at Canal Park. Garcia (6-6) improved to 4-0 on the season against Akron.

Clippers walk off to 4-3 win in extras
It took extra innings, but the Clippers pulled it out as they defeated the Norfolk Tides 4-3 in eleven innings. The Tides would strike first offensively in the top of the third. After a two out double by Xavier Avery, Nate McLouth sent a fly-ball out towards the right field wall. The ball sailed over Russ Canzler's head, allowing Avery to score rather easily as Norfolk staked itself to an early 1-0 lead.

Scrappers win 6-2, End skid at five
After a five game freefall, the Scrappers hope to have put their early season struggles behind them, picking up a big 6-2 win against the Crosscutters on Tuesday night. The offense didn’t waste any time putting runs on the board, plating five in the first two innings.
