Mudcats hold early lead, win 5-1
The Carolina Mudcats (28-31) opened up there series with the Myrtle Beach Pelicans (30-29) with an impressive 5-1 win pushing their winning streak to three games. Behind second baseman Tony Wolters' 2-for-4 and two RBI night, the Mudcats scored early on Pelican starter Randy Henry who was making his first professional start as he has been the Pelican closer for the majority of the year.

Clippers find their stroke, win 9-1
For the Columbus Clippers, their four-game series against the Buffalo Bisons has been one of offensive ups and downs. After exploding for 21 runs on Tuesday, the next two games proved to be far more challenging at the plate. The offense came back around on Friday, as the Clippers (28-33) defeated the Bisons (35-27) by a final score of 9-1.

Captains explode late, win 14-6
The Lake County Captains (29-31) scored ten runs in the late innings to defeat the Dayton Dragons (25-36) by a score of 14-6 and avoid the sweep on Friday night at Fifth Third Field. The win leaves Lake County 3.5 games out of the wild-card spot with nine games left.

Tony had a chance to sit down with John Mirabelli yesterday, the Indians Vice President of Scouting, and they touched on a plethora of topics surrounding the 2012 Draft. In today's first of two parts, Tony and Mirabelli discuss lots of things with this year's draft from the selection of Tyler Naquin, the absence of any left-handed pitching selections, how they prepared for the draft, and lots more.

Tony continues to provide lots of updates on players from the Indians' 2012 Draft and their signing status. Some players are signing right away, others will drag out until the July 13th deadline, and some players will be followed this summer for consideration later. Around the Farm: June 7, 2012
Tyler Cannon showed offensive promise last season, but struggled to start the season in 2012. Ronny Rodriguez did the same. Both found their inner grooves on Thursday night. Juan Diaz hit a blast that continued his hit streak since returning from Cleveland. The top ATF performer showcased the right-stuff, well, the Wright stuff anyways.

Wright strong in 2-1 victory
Steven Wright held the New Britain Rock Cats to two hits and a run over seven innings Thursday night, winning his fifth game of the year and lifting the Aeros to a 2-1 victory at Canal Park. The Aeros (36-20) completed a three-game sweep of the Rock Cats and have won seven of the last eight games. The Aeros have won nine straight home games, sweeping three straight series in the process. Overall, the Aeros are 23-7 at Canal Park this season.

Carolina mows down Blue Rocks 12-1
The Mudcats' Tyler Cannon and Michael Goodnight shined in a 12-1 thumping of the Wilmington Blue Rocks on Thursday night at Daniel Frawley Stadium. The Mudcats (28-31) salavaged a split of the series with Wilmington (28-31) thanks to the win.

Captains lose 11th inning heartbreaker
The Dayton Dragons (25-35) used a late rally to walk-off in the eleventh inning against the Lake County Captains (28-31) on Thursday night. The loss dropped the Captains 3.5 games out of the wild-card spot with nine games left. Lake County drew first blood in the first inning off of Dragons’ starter Stalin Gerson. Centerfielder Luigi Rodriguez laced a leadoff triple to right field. Shortstop Francisco Lindor singled to plate Rodriguez for the first run of the game.

Errors cost Columbus in 3-2 loss
It was a night of bend-but-don’t-break defense at Huntington Park as the Columbus Clippers (27-33) fell to the Buffalo Bisons (35-26) by a final score of 3-2 in the third game of a four-game series.It was defensive struggles hurt the Clippers early, as a throwing error by Clippers second baseman Jason Donald with two outs in the first kept the inning alive.

Second Thoughts: Game #56--Tigers 7, Indians 5
The Indians were looking for a season sweep with their pseudo-ace on the hill in Derek Lowe. Unfortunately, the Tribe got down early, and while they fought back, they weren't able to put up the final two runs in a 7-5 loss. Jason Ruggiero gives his Second Thoughts on Thursday's ballgame.

2012 Indians Draft: Day 3 thoughts and signings
The 2012 MLB Draft is over, and with that the Cleveland Indians have 40 new players that could potentially become official members of the organization. Tony gives a quick recap of the final day of the draft and also provides some comments from scouts on players. While no signings have been made official as of this moment, Tony also has the first word on several potential signings. He'll also be talking with John Mirabelli, Brad Grant, and others over the next few days, so lots more draft updates are coming!

Second Thoughts: Game #55 - Indians 9, Tigers 6
The Indians beat the Tigers 9-6 last night and are now 5-0 against them on the season. The White Sox also lost to the Blue Jays, bringing the Indians to within 0.5 games of first place. Things are definitely beginning to tighten up again in the AL Central, and Charle Adams provides his "second thoughts" on another Indians win over the Motor City Kitties.

Around the Farm: June 6, 2012
Tony Wolters keeps raking, and Jerrud Sabourin keeps hitting. There was a Nick Weglarz sighting, and Jose De La Torre may be a name to start paying attention to. Wednesday Night's ATF headline grabber may just be the best pure defensive catcher in the system. While he generally doesn't hit much, he proved there's a bit of offensive in there, which is icing on the cake. Who is it? Find out after the jump.

Dragons torch the Captains, 5-2
The Dayton Dragons (24-35) used a four run fourth inning to propel them to a 5-2 victory over the Lake County Captains (28-30) on Wednesday night at Fifth Third Field. The Captains struck for two runs in the first off of Dragons’ starter Tanner Robles (4-3, 4.45 ERA).

Clippers offense stifled by Bisons, 5-1
A day after the Clippers set a Huntington Park record with 21 runs scored in a victory over Buffalo, Columbus scored just one in a loss Wednesday night. The Bison defeated the Clippers, 5-1, winning the second game in a four-game series between the two clubs.

Perez, Aeros batter Rock Cats, 6-4
Akron catcher Roberto Perez had three hits and four runs batted in Wednesday night, as the Aeros won 6-4 over the New Britain Rock Cats at Canal Park. Perez had a night of firsts as it was his first three-hit game of the season and also his first multi-RBI game.

Wolters leads Mudcats to win over Blue Rocks
Tony Wolters plated three runs on three hits to help the Carolina Mudcats knock off the Wilmington Blue Rocks 5-2 on Wednesday night at Daniel Frawley Stadium. Will Roberts (3-2) held Wilmington (28-30) to two runs on six hits over six innings to pick up the win.
