hope for next year and beyond. (Photo: AP)
The disappointing conclusion to the Mariners series allows the tealeaves for the Cleveland Indians’ season to be read much more clearly.
Whatever way you want to say it, buzzards are circling, the bugler is preparing to play taps, and the writing is on the wall. There is no mistaking that the...

Jim Thome (Photo: MLB) Numerous reports have verified that the Indians have been awarded the claim on Twins designated hitter Jim Thome. This does not mean that the Indians have acquired Thome as the Twins can still pull him back, but what it means is the Indians have an exclusive 48-hour window to negotiate a trade with the Twins. The deadline to make a deal is 1:00 p.m. EST on Friday.

Ubaldo Jimenez is worth the price of Drew Pomeranz and Alex White, because he can be an impact player now, while Pomeranz...

This week featured eight games in seven days for the Clippers, and perhaps the traveling and lack of time off got to them. For the most part, it was a team-wide lack of execution, offensively, defensively and pitching-wise. Overall, the staff allowed 48 runs, but only 30 of them were earned, because of 11 errors. On the other side, the offense went 10-56 on the week with runners in scoring position....
