I failed to note this yesterday, but Triple-A Columbus third baseman Andy Marte was named the International League's Player of the Week yesterday for the period from June 22-28. Marte hit safely in each of his six games for the week, resulting in a League-best .478 batting average. The Cleveland Indians today announced they have acquired RHP Chris Perez and a player to be named from the St. Louis Cardinals in exchange for INF/OF Mark DeRosa.
