Per a report at Rivals.com, 16th round pick pitcher T.J. House has signed with the Indians. He is enroute to Cleveland to take a physical, and once he checks out he is supposed to officially sign on Friday. He reportedly will sign for $1 million. This is a big signing by the Indians, and with all these high profile signings the last few days with Fedroff, Stowell and a few others rumored to be close...

Aeros lose late, fall into 2nd place
Connecticut 3B David Maroul launched an 8th inning home run off Aeros starter Kevin Dixon to send the Aeros to a 3-2 defeat at the hands of the Defenders in front of 4,287 fans at Canal Park on Wednesday night. The loss dropped the Aeros into 2nd place in the Southern Division of the Eastern League for the first time since June 15th, but they still hold...

More details on this on Thursday, but I'll be doing the first radio show this Thursday 8/14 from 9:00 PM to 10:00 PM EST. These are just test shows still, and I have nil radio experience, so please keep that in mind when listening for the first several episodes. The hope here is this provides yet another way for people to get some prospect information, and more importantly offers people a place to...

Real quick....RHP Paul Byrd has been traded to the Boston Red Sox for a player to be named later or cash. The player to be named must be agreed upon on or before January 15, 2009.
Also, I have seen an unconfirmed report that the Indians have signed 22nd round pick UC Irvine's RHP pitcher Bryce Stowell to $725K bonus. Still awaiting confirmation on that, but if true, that is very good news.

Weglarz Already Golden In Eyes Of Family
At 6'3" 250-pounds, outfielder Nick Weglarz is a fearsome presence at the plate for any opposing pitcher. Just 20 years of age, the scary thing is he is expected to get even bigger in the next few years as his body continues to mature and fill out.
But even while he is a hulking, menacing mass at the plate, outside the lines Weglarz is one of the kindest, gentlest young men in sports today....

LHP Scott Lewis was named Eastern League Pitcher of the Week today for the week ending August 10th. In two starts last week Lewis was unbelievable, and in 13.1 innings allowed just one unearned run.
K-Tribe power past Hillcats

A nice little treat today as site reader Norman Banks forwarded me his thoughts on what he saw in Aflac All-American High School game this past Saturday in Los Angeles, California at Dodger Stadium.
Banks has some background in scouting and was with a friend who is involved with scouting, and he gives us a firsthand report on some high school kids to lookout for that the Indians may select...

Kinston Sweeps Salem
The Kinston Indians completed a four game sweep of Salem with a 4-1 victory Sunday afternoon at Historic Grainger Stadium. The K-Tribe won their final 10 meetings against the Avalanche this season, winning the season series with a 16-4 record.
Kinston got all the runs they needed in the bottom of the third inning. Jared Goedert led off the inning with a single,...

Miller is out throwing 120 feet now and will start to throw some games soon, but being so late in the season the Indians do not plan to ramp him up to pitch maybe the final week in Buffalo just to be shut down. He won't be a September callup in Cleveland and will instead go to Instructional League to start his comeback. Also will go to the Dominican Reublic or Venezuela this offseason and pitch a lot...
