In this MLB News and Notes segment, I will be giving occasional reports on the latest news and rumors throughout the MLB. I also will try to tweet news and rumors as I see them, so feel free to follow me on Twitter: @ajnicholsIBI.

Here are the stories from Sunday, April 13th.

Top Stories

  • According to Jon Heyman of CBSSports.com, agent Scott Boras said that the comments made by anonymous executives from around the league in an ESPN article about how much they would pay free agents Stephen Drew and Kendrys Morales has "damaged" the players. Boras told Heyman: "It's a clear violation of the CBA. As many as five executives continue to use ESPN as a conduit to violate the collective bargaining agreement. Kendrys Morales and Stephen Drew were damaged by these comments."

Too bad for you, Scott Boorass. Again you misread the market.
Looks like Ubaldo is using the "Callaway" system to determine his E.R.A. this year.

Meh, Boras has to do or say something, as long as his clients remain unsigned this whole fiasco is a black eye for him. He is known to grasp at whatever straw he can so we will see. Other agents have all learned to play his game better than he is, at least lately

Yea, poor Scott Boras... :--(

He totally misread the market on these two players and now he's looking for someone to blame rather than looking at himself.

Bummer about Blanton...he had a nice run, though.

Also, Boras and his free agents can cry me a river. I am sure they are still sleeping easy on the huge piles of money they have earned over the years--and will earn again after the draft.
