Coming up on the one month mark and after a rocky start, Columbus has begun to even things out. The Clippers' record has yet to reach the .500 mark, but after winning five of the last seven they are inching closer (.455). The recent roll has put Columbus above Toledo in the International League West standings and just a single win behind second place Louisville.

Catching Wind:

Roberto Perez, CA
15 G, .405 BA (17-for-42), .510 OBP, 11 R, 2 2B, 4 HR, 11 RBI, 8 K, 9 BB, 1 SB

The Clippers catcher has been incredible in the last two weeks, leading Columbus with a .405 batting average. His 13-game hit streak (longest in the IL) was broken on Saturday during a pinch hitting stint. In the past 10 games Perez has racked up all four of his homers and nine of his 11 RBI. His four home runs in 10 games doubles the two he had for all of 2013. Perez's eight strikeouts are misleading as in the past nine games Perez has struck out just a single time. The Clippers have been splitting the time up behind the plate mostly between Perez and George Kottaras.

Trevor Bauer, RHP
4 G, 3-0, 25.2 IP, 1.40 ERA, 18 H, 4 R, 4 ER, 28 K, 7 BB

Trevor Bauer extended his winning steak to three games Sunday with yet another quality start. The righty has been the essence of consistency. Bauer has yet to not record a quality start, going for at least six innings every time he takes the mound. He leads the Clippers in average pitches per start (98.7), surpassing 100 pitches in his 4/22 start. In 2013 Bauer struggled with control walking a career high 73 batters. Throughout his four starts with Columbus this year, those issues seem to be a thing of the past.

Stranded at Sea:

Nyjer Morgan, CF
10 G, .162 BA (6-for-37), .220 OBP, 3 R, 1 2B, 1 HR, 6 RBI, 10 K, 3 BB, 0 SB

Nyjer Morgan joined the Clippers after Michael Bourn came back from injury April 15. The center fielder has come in slow, and has been hitting in the number three spot of the order. Morgan has not recorded a hit in seven of the 10 games he's played in. It hasn't been all bad for Morgan, in the three games where he does get a hit they are timely resulting in five of his RBI.

Important Numbers:

3: That's the number of outs shortstop Justin Sellers recorded for Columbus' on Friday when he completed a triple play.

21: Jose Ramirez is currently riding a 21 game on-base streak (longest in IL).

News and Notes:

The Clippers added two new pitchers to their arsenal on April 23 with Frank Herrmann outrighted and Blake Woodoptioned from Cleveland. Both have made two appearances, Herrmann going 2.2 innings, and Wood pitching 1.2 total innings. Neither have allowed any earned runs thus far.
