Minor League Spring Game Recap: March 27th

We are down to the final few days of Indians minor league camp as players are getting set to depart Arizona on Sunday morning and head to their respective affiliates. Between now and then there will be several releases, and a few came down the pipe today. The following players have been released today:

Chase Burnette (1B) Brian Heere (OF) Chin-Lung Hu (SS) Will Krasne (RHP) Josh McKeon (RHP) Drew Rucinski (RHP) Nick Sarianides (RHP)

None of these came as much of a surprise as Krasne, McKeon and Rucinski were all undrafted free agent signings last year and were long shots to stick in the organization. Heere was an extra outfielder and Burnette did not have a good season at all last year and had limited ceiling as a prospect. Sarianides is a mild surprise, but the kiss of death was when he repeated at Low-A Lake County last year which showed low priority level to the organization. The only true surprise to me may be Hu, a guy I thought might fit in well as a backup infielder...
