Mills, Popham honored

Double-A Akron first baseman Beau Mills was named the Eastern League's Batter of the Week on Monday. In five games he hit .632 (12-for-19) with 4 2B, 3 HR, 9 RBI, 7 runs scored, 3 walks and a 1.316 slugging percentage in five games.
High-A Kinston right-handed pitcher Marty Popham was also named the Carolina League's Pitcher of the Week on Monday. On Sunday he struck out a season high eleven batters in 5 2/3 shutout innings, and allowed just three hits and no walks in his only start of the week.
