The Cleveland Indians today recalled LHP Aaron Laffey from AAA Columbus. He will start today, April 15 vs. the Kansas City Royals in KC. To allow room on the 25-man roster the Indians optioned INF Josh Barfield to AAA Columbus.
Aaron made his first start of the 2009 minor league season on Sat., April 11 in Louisville for AAA Columbus, a 5-1 win for the Bats (3.1IP, 6H, 5R/ER, 2BB, 1K, 60P). He was originally slated to pitch the night before, but the game was rained out. He was optioned to AAA Columbus out of spring training on March 25 after going 1-2 w/a 6.92 ERA in 5 spring starts (13.0IP, 15H, 11R/10ER, 0HR, 4BB, 9K, .288avg) in Arizona. He will again wear #32.
Barfield has appeared in 1 regular season game in 2009 (PR) after breaking camp with the club.
