IPI Hot List: 2012 Week 20
The IPI Hot List is back for another trial run as the season winds down. This listing is a quick rundown through the hottest players in the Indians system over the past seven days. In no way does it rank or list players based on value; it is simply a snapshot of the top 20 performances from the past week without any discrimination regarding whether a player is a prospect or not. In a way it is sort of like Around the Farm as it includes brief comments about each player, but the performances for the week are ranked from 1 to 20.
1. Cord Phelps (2B – COL): .500 AVG (14-for-28), 11 R, 4 2B, 3 HR, 12 RBI, 5 BB, 2 K, 1.540 OPS Phelps has been on quite a tear of late for Triple-A Columbus and overall this season is hitting .284 with 16 HR, 56 RBI and .846 OPS in 122 games. He has once again put up another good season and is showing patience (60 walks, .370 OBP) and some power (52 XBH, .476 SLG). He had a solid first half hitting .256 with 9 HR, 36 RBI and .770...
