Indians sign two players to minor league deals

The Cleveland Indians announced that they have signed free agent outfielder Matt Carson and Cedric Hunter to minor league contracts with non-roster invitations to 2013 Major League spring training camp.
Carson, 31, spent most of the 2012 season with the Triple-A Rochester Red Wings and hit .282 with 28 doubles, 2 triples, 14 homers and 53 RBI, and .804 OPS in 115 games. He also appeared in 26 games for the Twins and hit .227 (15-66).
Hunter, 24, hit .268 with 19 doubles, 2 triples, 5 homers and 44 RBI in 129 games at Triple-A Memphis. He was traded from Oakland to St. Louis in April, and was the top prospect in the Padres organization in 2007 according to Baseball America.
