Indians call up Accardo

The Indians have called up Triple-A Columbus right-handed pitcher Jeremy Accardo to fill the spot on the 25-man roster and in the bullpen after right-hander Dan Wheeler was designated for assignment yesterday.
Accardo, 30, was signed to a minor league contract in the offseason and pitched well in spring training for the Indians where in eight appearances he went 0-0 with a 1.00 ERA. In 9.0 innings he allowed 11 hits, 1 walk, and had 6 strikeouts. He opened the season at Triple-A Columbus and pitched well and made 13 appearances going 0-2 with a 2.76 ERA, and in 16.1 innings allowed 12 hits, 7 walks, and has 16 strikeouts.
