The Cleveland Indians have agreed to contract terms with fifth overall pick prep outfielder Clint Frazier. He is in town for the weekend and is expected to officially sign his contract on Saturday and should talk with the local media on Saturday or Sunday.  He will receive a $3.5 million signing bonus, which is $287,000 below the $3.787 recommened slot value for their pick.

The Indians recently signed other top 10 rounds picks 8th rounder Trevor Frank  ($10,000) and 9th rounder Thomas Pannone ($120,000). Both are underslot signings as well, so with six unsigned top 10 round picks remaining the Indians are $463,100 under budget for the Top 10 round bonus pool.

Will anyone from IBI be in Arizona to see Frazier play? They open up play on June 20th with the Reds.

if you think 10k is small potatoes... I think we gave Joe Wendle a 6th round pick a 1500 dollar bonus to sign so there is that.

Agreed, Id love to see the Tribe snag Aaron Brown. I guess part of that will go to 11th rd pk Adam Plutko to get him signed. Plutko was a top 200 player. Brown was a top 100 player, so it's easy to imagine he'd want a it more.

Would love to see the savings go to Aaron Brown.

Some other teams off $1K take it or leave it. $10 K is actually, some what reasonable with that in mind.

The Indians are going to need all that money to sign their 11th round choice regardless of any ill feelings it might create. Frankly, it looks like they will have some choices above 10 who stand a better chance of reaching the MLs than Frank. It is just the way it is with the CBA.

It just seems some of these guys start off right away with some resentment against the Tribe management for the low ball offer/signing. The take it or leave it amount - $10K jeez....

The 8th round pick was a college senior with zero leverage. The 9th round pick was a guy with a few years of college eligibility left. Happens all the time.

How do we sign a 8th rounder for 10K and the 9th round pick for 120K? just curious how that works...
