HARRISBURG - The Aeros defeated the Harrisburg Senators in game two of their series, 5-2, Wednesday night at Metro Bank Park.  The Aeros boasted twelve hits led by Thomas Neal, Matt Lawson, and Chun Chen to take the Senators down for the second night in a row.

The Aeros wasted no time putting a quick two runs on the board in the top of the first inning. Neal got the hits going with a line drive up the middle followed by another single by Chun Chen. Jesus Aguilar snagged the first RBI of the night with a fly ball double to the right side that scored both Neal and Chen.

Newcomer Carlos Rojas started the second inning off with a walk, followed by a double from Tyler Holt to put runners in scoring position. Jordan Henry jumped on the opportunity with a ground ball single to the right side that scored Rojas. Neal put up his second hit of the night against the Senators’ frazzled starter Trevor Holder to get Holt across the plate to take a 4-0 lead.

Akron left-handed starter T.J. House pitched a solid seven innings to grab his seventh win of the season. House allowed six hits and only one earned run, a run that was scored in the second inning.   An unearned run came in the seventh on account of an error by Rojas. The run allowed Harrisburg to cut Akron’s lead to 4-2.

House struck out four and only walked two before being replaced by Kyle Landis in the eighth inning.  Landis only saw four batters for the inning striking out two and allowing one hit.

The Aeros put one more run on the board in the eighth inning.  Matt Lawson laid down a bunt up the third base line for a single. Rohlinger advanced Lawson with a sacrifice bunt to the mound. Rojas redeemed his earlier error with a soft ground ball to short to get the final Akron run across the plate and final score of 5-2.

The final game of the series against the Senators takes place Thursday at 7:00 p.m. Right-handed pitcher Toru Murato will go for his ninth win of the season against Harrisburg right-hander Chien Ming.
