Columbus rallies twice in 8-7 win

Mike Sarbaugh's young team is making a habit of playing one run games and so far, they've been pretty good at winning them. The Clippers rallied from a four run deficit to defeat Indianapolis 8-7, the third straight win to start the season.

The Clippers are 3-0 for the first time since 1997. Columbus scored three times in the eighth and twice in the ninth to grab a 7-6 lead and set the stage for Josh Judy to earn a save. However, Judy allowed an Alex Pressley homer to tie the game, forcing extra innings.

Jerad Head scored the eventual winning run on a Lonnie Chisenhall grounder. Judy closed out the Indians in the bottom of the inning.

Jason Kipnis picked up three RBIs while Ezequiel Carrera piled up three hits and scored twice.

Alex White, Cleveland's 2009 #1 draft pick, earned a no decision as the Columbus starter, debuting in Triple-A. White allowed two runs from three hits in five innings, striking out six.

The Clippers look to sweep the series Sunday as Zach McAllister makes his first start of the season. First pitch is scheduled for 2:05pm as Indianapolis counters with Daniel McCutchen.

Aeros fall to B-Mets, 6-2

The Akron Aeros gave up two runs in the top of the eighth inning and fell to the Binghamton Mets 4-2 in game three of a four game set today at Canal Park.

Grady Sizemore made his second rehab start for the Aeros going 2-4 with a double and a RBI. Sizemore is now 3-7 on his Major League Rehab Assignment.

Chen-Chang Lee gave up the two runs in the top of the eighth inning and suffered the loss lasting two innings, giving up four runs (two earned) on three hits, walking two and striking out three.

Right-handed pitcher Erik Turgeon picked up the win for Binghamton pitching 1.1 perfect innings of relief.

The B-Mets (2-1) got on the board in the top of the third inning against Aeros starter Scott Barnes. Jean Luc Blaquiere walked and was advanced to second on a Jose Coronado sacrifice bunt. He later scored on a Jordany Valdespin double to right. Valdespin came across to score on a Josh Satin RBI single, which gave Binghamton a 2-0 lead.

The Aeros (1-2) battled back in the bottom of the seventh inning off reliever Roy Merritt. Following a Karexon Sanchez walk, a Juan Apodaca single and a wild pitch, Grady Sizemore won a foot race to the first base bag beating first baseman Eric Campbell and driving in Akron
