Scrappers fall to Renegades, 10-5
The Mahoning Valley Scrappers lost their fourth straight Monday night to the Hudson Valley Renegades 10-5 at Eastwood Field.
Asdrubal Cabrera got the start at shortstop beginning his two-day rehab stint with the Scrappers. Cabrera went 1-3 with a double and two RBI before giving way to Tyler Cannon after the fifth inning. Cabrera will be back at Eastwood Field on Tuesday before heading to double-A Akron to continue his rehab.
Miguel Sierra picked up the win for the Renegades pitching five innings, giving up four earned runs on seven hits, striking out one and walking two. Scrappers' right-handed pitcher Owen Dew took the loss and went six innings and allowed six runs on nine hits, no walks and had five strikeouts. Third baseman Giovanny Urshella (3-for-4, RBI) and first baseman Chase Burnette (2-for-5, K) led the way for the offense. Catcher Diego Seastrunk also homered.
The Scrappers will play the third and final game of this series on Tuesday night at 7:05 p.m.
