Despite late innings surge, Indians fall to Rangers 6-4
SURPRISE-The AZL Indians offense looked poised early as they had three hits in the first inning which included a Jorge Martinez RBI double. However, more early pitching woes that allowed runs to score in each of the first four innings ended up being too much for the young Tribe. Starter Nicholas Pasquale—recently assigned to the AZL after his first stint with Mahoning Valley—threw three innings, gave up 3 runs (2 ER) with 3 K’s and 2 BB’s. Once again, the Tribe defense made some costly errors as third baseman Jorge Martinez botched a ball at third base for the second day in a row (third error on the season) and catcher Eric Haase had his second throwing error of the season (both thus far have come on overthrows in steal attempts to second base). Haase also surrendered his third passed ball in the early going as his receiving is really quite weak at this point.
