COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Columbus Clippers’ bats stayed hot in their 8-4 victory against the Buffalo Bisons to extend their winning streak to six games.

Tyler Cloyd started on the bump Monday night for the Clippers. Cloyd pitched six full innings, giving up 10 hits and four runs.

Buffalo made the first move jumping on Cloyd in the second. A double to center field kicked off the inning, a single grounder taking the same path to center brought in Buffalo's first run of the game.

This was the only time the Bisons held a lead. Ryan Rohlingersingled on a high fly out to the centerfield warning track. Luke Carlinstepped up to the plate and sent a line drive to right field, moving Rohlinger to third and landing himself on second. Justin Sellers kept things hot with a single of his own sending the tying run on home.

Tyler Holt was responsible for the second RBI of the inning, he grounded into a force out that scored Carlin to take the lead.

Top of the fourth and Buffalo's Dan Johnson took Cloyd's offering yard for a solo homer to tie things back up.

The Clippers sealed the Bisons’ fate in the bottom of the fourth with a huge offensive inning. With hits from Jesus AguilarTim FedroffElliot Johnson and Carlos Moncrief, Columbus took a comfortable five run lead at 7-2.

Cloyd returned to pitch in the fifth and let up his second homer of the night. A two-run blast to the right field wall, bringing the Bisons closer to Columbus.

Bottom of the sixth and Aguilar drew a walk and advanced on a balk. Adam Abraham singled to send the Aguilar home to score from second and advance the Clippers to an 8-4 lead.

C.C. LeeAustin Adams and Vinnie Pestano all put in an inning of scoreless work. The bullpen didn't let up a single hit, and struck out a total of three.

The Clippers recent hot streak has propelled them to second in the International League West. The 37-33 Clippers sit only behind Indianapolis.
