COLUMBUS, Ohio – Knuckleballer Steven Wright held the Columbus Clippers to two hits over eight innings and fanned eight Columbus batters.

The Pawtucket Red Sox took their third win in a row at Huntington Park Wednesday night, 3-1.

After two scoreless innings Clippers' starter Toru Murata let one up to Dan Butler for a single homer.

Murata held down the fort up until the top of the eighth. Murata let up a single to right fielder Carlos Moncrief, whos error sent the runner to second.

After a sac-bunt putting a Pawtucket runner on third, Murata was pulled in favor of J.C. Ramirez.

The first batter Ramirez faced, Ramirez threw a wild pitch brining in Murata's second earned run of the night.

Ramirez gave up a high fly to right field, putting runners on first and second with one out.

Pawtucket got one more it in on Ramirez, with a double to left field bringing home a third run for the Red Sox.

Wright called it a ninth with eight complete innings, giving the Clippers a chance. The Clippers got on the board for the first time in the ninth.

Tyler Holt drew the walk with one out and was followed by Elliot Johnson's single. Both runners advanced on a wild pitch, putting them on third and second while Jesus Aguilar was batting.

Aguilar grounded out, but brought Holt home for the Clippers' only run of the night.

Columbus' recent losing streak comes at a bad time as they are embarking on a four day six game road trip in Indianapolis where they are scheduled to face the first place Indians.
