A rainy night at Huntington Park led to the Clipper's 4-1 loss to the Pawtucket Red Sox.

After an hour delay Kyle Davies took the mound in the top of the first. Davies last start on 7/2 was a rough one where he went four innings, allowing four runs on four hits, posting a 9.00 ERA.

The righty started to redeem himself Monday night, pitching a solid five innings, giving up two runs on six hits.

One of those runs would come early as the Red Sox jumped on the board early in the first. The first batter Davies faced took the offering deep into right field for the homer.

Down by one into the bottom of the fourth and Ryan Rohlinger reached second on a fielder's choice. Justin Sellers came through with a sharp single out to left field, bringing home Rohlinger for the tying run.

With the game tied up, Davies continued on the bump in to the fifth. After letting up a single and a walk with one out, Davies gave up a high fly ball to center field for an RBI single.

Clippers were back 2-1 after the fifth when another storm came through forcing the tarp on. Columbus and Pawtucket picked up where they left off as soon as the rain passed through.

Josh Outman replaced Davies going into the sixth. Outman let up two singles with only one out, putting runners on first and second. A fly ball out to the center field brought another run in for the Red Sox. Outman finished up the inning with two quick outs, stranding two runners.

Pawtucket was not done yet with CC Lee pitching in the eighth. Lee started off giving up a hard hit single to center field, followed up by a walk. With no outs Lee let a grounder through to center field for the RBI, scoring the Red Sox fourth run of the game.

With the Clippers unable to get on the board again Davies was saddled with his seventh loss of the season. The dropped game brought the Clippers down to a 49-41 record. Columbus has two more games left in their series with Pawtucket, before the head out to Indianapolis to face off against the first place Indians.
