PAWTUCKET, R.I. –– The Columbus Clippers were shut out Monday afternoon, after winning the first two of their four game series with Pawtucket. Pawtucket out hit the Clippers 12-4, winning 5-0.

Tyler Cloyd came up with the loss, after no offensive support from his team.

Cloyd kept things scoreless through four before letting the Red Sox on to the board. After a lead off single, a double put runners on second and third with one out. Cloyd let one up to bring in Pawtucket's first run. After the single, the Red Sox came through with a double on a fly to right, bringing home the second run of the night.

With the Sox up by two, Columbus hadn't gotten a chance to rally before Pawtucket furthered the lead.

Bottom of the fifth and Cloyd gave up two singles. A double play sent the Red Sox above the Clippers 3-0.

Cloyd continued into the sixth, a lead off homer took the quality start. After the homer, Cloyd made it out with no further damage.

Bottom of the seventh with Cloyd on the bump and another lead off homer put Pawtucket up 5-0.

Vinnie Pestano finished out the game for the Clippers and put together a scoreless inning. Pestano's efforts made little difference with little offense being generated from Columbus.

The Clipper's loss did little to effect their lead in the International League West Standings. Columbus keeps a two game lead above Indianapolis with one more game left in their series with Pawtucket.
