Coach's Corner '12: Scott Erickson
Coach's Corner is a weekly IPI premium feature which will post every Tuesday through the end of the year. It will feature interviews with coaches up and down the Indians system and discuss the development from some of the players they worked with this past season.
I recently had a chance to sit down with High-A Carolina pitching coach Scott Erickson to discuss his first season coaching and some of the pitchers he worked with this past season.
Erickson, 44, made his professional coaching debut with the Indians this past season. Considering the Indians’ emphasis of late on groundball starting pitchers, his expertise in this area was a big help this past season considering over his 17 year big league career he led the league in double players induced five times and is said to be in the top five all time for groundball to fly out ratio.
