Coaches Corner '12: Jeff Harris
I recently had a chance to sit down with pitching coach Jeff Harris and discuss a few of his pitchers on the Low-A Lake County roster. He is a coach at an important level in the early development of a pitcher and we talked about how he gets them to work on their fastball command, and of course, we talked about a few specific players and how they are doing this season.
Q: One of the most encouraging showings so far this season has been that of right-hander Cody Anderson. What have you liked about him so far?
Jeff Harris: He has really good stuff. He does not have a whole lot of pitching experience, so he is still getting a feel for his five day routine and how to attack hitters and how to use his stuff. He has a tremendous work ethic, likes to get after it, and is a competitor on the mound.
Q: You mentioned Anderson’s inexperience, what are some things he needs to really work on right now?
JH: Just overall game awareness...
