Offense has certainly not been lacking at the plate for the Clippers over the past two games, and Columbus has two easy wins to show for it.

Columbus defeated the Toledo Mud Hens Friday night, 13-2. Thursday night, the Clippers throttled the Mud Hens, 16-2. Over the past two nights at Huntington Park, Columbus has tallied 37 hits--a franchise record for a two-game span.

Friday night, the Clippers had 21 hits--six of which were of extra-base fashion. Designated hitter Vinny Rottino and right fielder Chad Huffman led the way for Columbus, totaling eight hits combined, including three doubles. Seven of the nine Clippers in the lineup had at least one RBI, with catcher Matt Pagnozzi driving in a team-high three runs.

On the mound, Columbus got a solid effort from its starter for the second-straight night. Right-hander Corey Kluber allowed two runs in seven innings before giving the game up to the bullpen, which gave up two hits and no runs in two frames.

Columbus (58-50) scored only two runs during the first two innings before breaking out.

In the third, the Clippers scored three runs, two of which came on a Pagnozzi double. Shortstop Gregorio Petit also had an RBI single in the inning.

Toledo finally plated two runs in the seventh after Columbus tallied two more runs in the fifth and sixth. The Clippers then put the game away with a six-run seventh inning. Russ Canzler had a two-run homer in the seventh, while Rottino, Huffman and Pagnozzi had RBIs.

With the win, Columbus takes the fifth and final game against the Mud Hens, and the series, 4-1.

Columbus will play Rochester in a four-game set starting Saturday at 7:05 p.m.
