After an embarrassing 9-1 loss to the Mudhens Tuesday night, the Clippers once again struggled to keep up with Toledo's offense losing 6-2.

The loss came with Tyler Cloyd (10-8) on the mound. Cloyd allowed three runs (all earned) and ten hits in seven innings of work on the mounds.

Cloyd kept a tight ship through the first but left one hanging for a homer to right field in the top of the second.

The Clippers and Cloyd headed into the third down by one and and the deficit grew. Another solo homer off of Cloyd put the Mudhens up by two.

With no score through three innings, Toledo jumped back on the board in the seventh. A single on a fly ball with two on brought in a third run under Cloyd's watch.

In the bottom of the seventh Audy Ciriaco launched a fly ball out to left field that fell in for a double. Tyler Collins was on base and ran in the Clippers first run of the game cutting Toledo's lead to 3-1.

After the small rally by Columbus in the seventh, the Clippers came back for more in the eighth. Luke Carlin went yard for his fifth homer of the year, a solo shot to right field to bring Columbus within one run of the Mudhens.

In the top of the ninth all hopes of a late game comeback went out the window. With Austin Adams pitching and two men on base, a drive to centerfield brought in two more runs for Toledo. The triple put a runner in the perfect position for a single from the next batter to bring in a third run and give the Mudhens a comfortable four run lead.

After splitting the past six games 3-3 with Toledo, Columbus still remains the favorite in the international league west standings. The Clippers hold a five game lead on second place Indianapolis.
