BUFFALO, N.Y. – It was a full days work Wednesday afternoon in Buffalo. The Columbus Clippers wrapped up Tuesday's delayed game and followed up with a seven inning match up before calling it a night. Columbus dropped the first game 4-5 and couldn't overcome the Bison's for the second, losing 3-2.

Danny Salazar took the mound for the second game. Salazar pitched six innings, giving up three runs on seven hits. The righty retired seven before taking his fifth loss of the season.

After three scoreless innings for both teams the Clippers jumped on the map first in the fourth. Carlos Moncrief led off with a ground ball right down the middle for a single. Audy Ciriacofollowed up drawing a walk from the Bison's starter Aaron Sanchez.

With Adam Abraham batting Moncrief stole his sixth base of the season, advancing to third. A sac fly out to right field brought Moncrief in to score the first run of the game, putting the Clippers up 1-0.

Top of the fifth and Columbus kept rolling. Giovanny Urshela stepped up to the plate and went yard out to left field for the single homer, putting the Clippers up 2-0.

The Clippers lead didn't last long. Bottom of the fifth and Salazar left one hanging for a two run shot out to right field, tying things up 2-2.

Bottom of the sixth and Buffalo took control. After giving up two singles a throwing error on a fielders choice by Ciriaco brought in the Bison's third run of the night.

The Clippers were unable to retake the lead in the shortened game, dropping their third game in a row. The recent cool down on Columbus' road trip has had little effect on the standings where the Clippers still sit in second in the International League West.
