Cleveland Sports Insider: 9/15/12
By Jim Pete
September 15, 2012
IndiansProspectInsider.com is proud to introduce their new weekly foray into Cleveland Sports, Cleveland Sports Insider. It joins the cyberwaves tonight from 10:30pm – 11:30pm EST. The one hour show is hosted by Jim Pete and Steve Orbanek, and will air every Saturday.
The Cleveland Cavaliers have been largely forgotten, with the Indians cliff dive and the Browns "fresh, new season" beginning. Steve and I will jump into things talking about Dion Waiters and Tyler Zeller. The Cavaliers also signed an interesting G/F in the 6'6", 222 pound C.J. Miles. Is he the kid who improved every year in Utah since 2005, or the one that took a step back in 2011/2012? What about Alonzo Gee? The Cavs sign him to a three-year deal. Is he a starter that can improve on a breakout year, or is he more of a complimentary piece going forward? Corey Kluber is the next Nolan Ryan...now...discuss. While that's clearly a joke (sorry Nolan), we will talk Indians baseball, and I have to be honest...I have no idea where that goes. Let's pray for an Akron victory tonight, so we'll at least have that.
If time permits, we'll take a quick look at Ohio State, as the Buckeyes prepare to launch themselves into another weak opponent next week against UAB...before they head to East Lansing for their first true test on the 29th. Are these Buckeyes for real, or a product of their schedule...and what about Braxton Miller...is he really a Heisman contender, or is he a product of a weak schedule?
For those that are subscribed to the Smoke Signals feed through iTunes, you will also now be getting two new shows included in that feed. Every Sunday “The Inside Pitch” runs for a half hour from 7:00-7:30PM EST and is hosted by IPI site contributors Jeff Ellis and Andrew Zajac. The show will have a strong focus on fantasy baseball, but will also cover other topics surrounding MLB and the Indians from time to time. Tonight's show, Cleveland Sports Insiders hosted by IPI site co-editors Jim Pete and Steve Orbanek will be focusing on Cleveland Sports. Of course, the IPI staple, Smoke Signals, hosted by site owner Tony Lastoria and Jim Pete, remains on Tuesday Night from 10:00 to 11:00 through the remainder of the season.
Feel free to call us at 1-347-202-0338 during the show to talk about anything on your mind. Thanks again for listening!
