FORT WAYNE, IN - Mitch Brown dominated over six shutout innings and the Captains went on to win the game by a final of 4-1. Brown (6-8) won his fourth game in five starts and allowed just two hits, two walks and he struck out five. The Captains have now won four straight series.

Lake County opened the scoring in the top of the first inning. Ivan Castillo was on third base, and jogged home on a double from Mike Papi. The score was 1-0 Captains. Lake County extended the lead by scoring a single run in the bottom of the third inning. Dorssys Paulino tripled to lead off the inning and scored on an RBI single from Richard Stock. The score was 2-0 Captains after four innings.

In the fifth inning, with two outs, Mike Papi and Nellie Rodriguez hit back-to-back doubles and the score was 3-0 Captains after six innings. Clint Frazier slugged his 12th home run of the season and the Captains led 4-0 after seven innings. Fort Wayne scored a run in the ninth inning on a single from Josh VanMeter. The final was 4-1.

RHP Justin Brantley entered in relief for Lake County. Brantley pitched one and two thirds innings and allowed three hits, one walk and he struck out three. Wander Beras pitched two thirds of an inning and allowed one earned run. Trevor Frank pitched the final two thirds of an inning to secure his 15th save of the season.

RHP Ronald Herrera (6-8) started the game for the TinCaps. Herrera pitched five innings and allowed seven hits, three earned runs, one walk and three strikeouts. Herrera was saddled with the loss. The TinCaps used tow pitchers in relief to close out the ballgame.

Lake County will continue a six-game road trip on Monday. The Captains will open a three-game series with Bowling Green. Lake County will give the ball to RHP Jordan Milbrath (3-12, 3.77) and the Hot Rods will counter with LHP Chris Kirsh (9-6, 2.55). First Pitch will be at 8:05 PM from Bowling Green Ballpark in Bowling Green, KY.
