AZL Indians lose a close one, 6-4
MESA - The AZL Indians (1-4) lost a tough one last night to the AZL Cubs with a final score of 6-4.
After leading the game through the first six frames, the wheels came off in the 7th as Tribe pitcher Alexis Paredes struggled as his inning played out as follows: walking the leadoff batter, throwing a wild pitch, a single, an error, a sac bunt...take a breath here...a passed ball, a ground rule double, a single, then finally a pitching change as Juan Santana came in to rescue Paredes in a 7th inning of doom.
Paredes repertoire consisted of a high 80’s fastball and a curveball that was slurvy and sat between 77-78 MPH and was primarily just used as a show me pitch.
The highlight of the night was the 3rd inning for the Indians as they scored three runs on three hits that included a few breaks as the AZL Cubs committed miscues and wild pitches. Dorsyss Paulino ignited the offense with a leadoff triple, followed by an Anthony Santander...
