Around the Farm (ATF) takes a quick look at some of the daily performances by Indians prospects. This is a special winter ball version of ATF that recaps all the offseason action by Indians players in the Caribbean Leagues. The positions listed below are where the player was playing in the game.
Here is the rundown of what Indians players in winter ball did yesterday.
Colombia Winter League
- Giovanny Urshela (3B, Cartagena Tigres): 2-for-5, R, 2B, K. It is hard to see the day to day progress in Colombia due to the limited statistical information they have available, but Urshela has been better at the plate the last week.
Venezuela Winter League
- Asdrubal Cabrera (SS, Leones del Caracas): 1-for-4, RBI, 2 K, SB. Cabrera got a hit, but he is still in a 4-for-33 funk in his last 10 games and has struck out 9 times in his last 8 games.
- Jesus Aguilar (1B, Leones del Caracas): 1-for-4, R, HR, RBI, K. Aguilar is going to be sad to see 2011 come to a close after the year he has had. He’s had a breakout year as a prospect showing power in every league he has played in and the future is bright for the big Venezuelan power hitter.
