Around the Farm (ATF) takes a quick look at some of the daily performances by Indians prospects. This is a special fall and winter ball version of ATF that recaps all the offseason action by Indians players in the Arizona Fall League (AFL) and the Caribbean Leagues. The positions listed below are where the player was playing in the game.
The AFL was off yesterday, but here is a rundown of what Indians players in winter ball are up to:
Dominican Winter League
Kelvin De La Cruz (RP, Aguilas Cibaenas): 0.1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 1 K. “De La” faced all of one batter and struck him out for the final out of the inning and ended up getting credited with the win.
Jerad Head (RF/CF, Tigres del Licey): 1-for-3, R, RBI, K. Even after a long season Head continues to play to show he can improve and maybe be a piece for the Indians in 2012.
Venezuelan Winter League
Luis Valbuena (2B, Cardenales de Lara): 0-for-3, K. Valbuena has played in all five games for his Cardenales de Lara team and is 4-for-17 at the plate.
