Around the Farm (ATF) takes a quick look at some of the daily performances by Indians prospects. This is a special fall and winter ball version of ATF that recaps all the offseason action by Indians players in offseason winter ball leagues.  The positions listed below are where the player was playing in the game.

DOMINICAN WINTER LEAGUE (LIDOM) SERIE FINAL - GAME 6

Carlos Santana (Leones del Escogido, 3B): 1-for-3, 1 R, 1 2B, 1 RBI, 2 BB. Santana picks up an RBI double and was walked intentionally twice as he posted yet another errorless outing at third base.  The two intentional free passes bring his walk total to 24 in the playoffs with 8 of them intentional - his ratio of non-intentional walks to intentional ones in the playoffs is 2:1. He is only hitting .224 in the playoffs, but because of all the walks he has an excellent .401 on-base percentage. The Leones won 9-6 to draw even with the Tigres del Licey at three games a piece in the best-of-nine Serie Final.

AUSTRALIAN BASEBALL LEAGUE (ABL) - END OF REGULAR SEASON

Ben Shorto (Perth Heat, 2B): 1-for-4, 1 2B, 1 K, 1 E. Shorto appeared in his fifth game of the ABL campaign and his first complete one in the Heat' regular season finale.  He picked up his first professional base hit in a game which he was able to play in because Perth had long since clinched the top spot in the standings and the bye to the Grand Final series that comes with it.  It is highly doubtful that the inexperienced Shorto will see any playing time in the ABL Championship Series. The only other Indians playing this offseason in the ABL were Ryan Battaglia and Mitch Nilsson (the latter of whom played in only one game), though both played for the Brisbane Bandits who were eliminated a long time ago.  For anyone wondering, the ABL Championship schedule is as follows:

BOTH SERIES BEST-OF-3

PRELIMARY FINAL SERIES - Canberra Cavalry @ Sydney Blue Sox (Game 1 in Canberra*)
1/31 - 3:00 AM EST
2/1 - 2:00 AM EST
2/2 - 12:00 AM EST (if necessary)

*Normally, home-field advantage in the ABLCS is absolute, but third-place Canberra will host Game 1 due to the close proximity of Canberra to Sydney.

GRAND FINAL SERIES - Preliminary Final Series winner @ Perth Heat
2/7-2/9 - First Pitch times TBD

No TV/streaming information is available for either series as of press time.

PUERTO RICAN WINTER LEAGUE (LBPRC) SERIE FINAL - GAME 6

No Indians played tonight.

The Indios de Mayaguez topped the criollos de Caguas 5-1 to take the Puerot Rican title four games to two.  While we won't know the exact state of Tribe representation in the Caribbean Series until all of the numerous roster adjustments (between each league's Serie Final and the Caribbean Series is the heaviest period of refuerzoactivity in the Caribbean winter ball season , not least due to the fact that the league Champions nominally represent their entire country - down to usually wearing the national team uniform - rather than merely their own club), it appears for now that Tyler Sturdevant and Bryce Stowell's winter ball seasons are done.  Roberto Perez, while on the Mayaguez roster, saw such limited playing time with the Indios that he is a likely candidate to be dropped in favor of a Series-only replacement.

VENEZUELAN WINTER LEAGUE (LVBP) SERIE FINAL - GAME 4

No Indians played tonight.

The Caribes de Anzoategui beat the Navegantes del Magallanes 5-3 in ten innings (the game was scoreless entering extras) to take their first win of the series and stay alive.  The Navegantes now lead the series three games to one.

MEXICAN PACIFIC LEAGUE (LMP) SERIE FINAL - GAME 5

No Indians still active in this league's playoffs.

The Naranjeros de Hermosillo defeated the Mayos de Navojoa 6-4 to take a three games to two lead in the best-of-seven series.
