Around the Farm (ATF) takes a quick look at some of the daily performances by Indians prospects. This is a special fall and winter ball version of ATF that recaps all the offseason action by Indians players in offseason winter ball leagues.  The positions listed below are where the player was playing in the game.

Venezuela Winter League:

Jesus Aguilar (Leones del Caracas 1B): 1-1, 2 R, 1 BB. Aguilar continues to dominate. He has exploded (again) over the last week plus with five home runs and an OPS over 1.100. He was pulled early in this game, but managed to reach base in both of his at bats and score two more runs. There isn't another player in the system who has done more for their stock than Aguilar this offseason.

Elvis Araujo (Aguilas del Zulia SP): 3 IP, 5 H, 3 ER, 6 K's, 3 BB's. In his first appearance since November 28th, Araujo went three innings and gave up all of his runs on a three run homer. Aside from that blemish and some control struggles, he pitched pretty well. The six strikeouts in three innings is especially encouraging. Coming off a lost season in the minors, Araujo's overall body of work this winter has been impressive.

Dominican Winter League:

Ronny Rodriguez (Estrellas de Oriente 2B): 0-1. Not much to see here. Rodriguez hasn't played much since October. For the season he's had 21 at-bats and managed only one hit.

Erik Gonzalez (Leones del Escogido 2B): 0-5, 2 K's. This was a somewhat rare hitless night from Gonzalez. The story of Gonzalez's winter has been a lot of hits, a lot of strikeouts, and few walks. He added two more strikeouts to his total in this game, bringing the amount to 44 in 41 games played. The 0-5 night also drops his batting average to .329, the lowest it's been all winter. Gonzalez might be fading a bit, but this has been a big winter for him.

Puerto Rico Winter League:

Carlos Moncrief (Gigantes de Carolina OF): 0-3. An utterly disappointing winter season for Moncrief continues. His 0-3 outing takes his batting average down to .240, to go along with a shockingly bad K:BB ratio (32 strikeouts to 4 walks). It looked like Carlos might have been turning the corner in late November, but that doesn't appear to be the case anymore. I'm still hopeful for big things this coming year from Moncrief, including a possible late season audition in Cleveland. Let's hope this performance doesn't carry over into Columbus, where I imagine Moncrief will be starting.

Brett Brach (Gigantes de Carolina RP): 1.2 IP, 3 H, 2 ER, 1 K. Another hiccup for Brach, giving up two runs in an inning and two thirds in this game. Previous to this appearance Brach had given up only one earned run in his last ten innings of work. Still trying to recover from a rough start to the season, this outing takes his winter ERA back up to 5.52.
