Around the Farm (ATF) takes a quick look at some of the daily performances by Indians prospects. This is a special fall and winter ball version of ATF that recaps all the offseason action by Indians players in offseason winter ball leagues.  The positions listed below are where the player was playing in the game.

Erik Gonzalez (Leones del Escogido, SS): 1-for-3, 1 R, 1 3B, 1 K. Gonzalez picks up his first hit in three game on a decent night at the plate.  With only a few weeks to go in the Domincan regular season, he doesn't have much time to turn this around before he'll have to do it in spring training in Goodyear. As an aside, while the Leones are a near lock to make the playoffs, would they play a guy in this kind of a slump in the biggest games of the year?

Anthony Vizcaya (Cardenales de Lara, RP): 0.2 IP, 4 H, 3 R (all earned), 1 BB, 1 WP. The Cardenales fans probably thought that things couldn't get any worse after starter Jose Escalona's rough 1.2 IP.  Well, Anthony Vizcaya replaced him on the mound and proved them wrong.  For those wondering why Vizcaya doesn't get more appearances (this was only his fifth of the LVBP season), this is why.  After two straight scoreless outings to start the season, he has followed it up with single-game ERAs of 54.00, infinity, and 40.00.  He now stands at a 15.75 ERA with a 3:5 K:BB ratio, 2.75 WHIP, and .353 opponents' batting average in 4.0 IP.

Roberto Perez (Indios de Mayaguez, starting C): 0-for-3. Perer performed poorly at the plate in his first start of the season befor being pulled for pinch-hitter Danny Gionzalez in the ninth inning.  Perez came though on Saturday night with two big hits in extra innings to give his team the win and it looks like he was rewarded with a spot start.  He is now batting only .143 on the LBPRC season.

Bryce Stowell (Crillos de Cagias, RP): 0.1 IP, 2 H, 1 R (earned), 1 HR allowed. Stowell has his third straight rough outing after three scoreless efforts to begin the Puerto Rican season.  It has been a long year for him so the performance could be due to fatigue, but seeing how he has rarely been used I am chalking it up to rust.
