ERIE - Second baseman Ryan Rohlinger went 4-for-4 Wednesday leading the Aeros to a 6-4 victory over the Erie Seawolves.

Rohlinger boasted two singles, a double and his sixth homerun on the season to help the Aeros bounce back from two straight losses against the Seawolves.

Jesus Aguilar snagged his first Double-A homer in the top of the second inning to put Akron up to a hasty 1-0 lead.

The Aeros got things going again with the scoring in the fourth with a double from Chun Chen making it his 28th for the season. Aguilar again stepped to the plate and smoked a line drive single to center field to notch another RBI on the night when Chen crossed homeplate. Rohlinger’s followed by cracking a line drive double to the left side to score Aguilar to put the Aeros up 3-0.

The Seawolves were able to get one on he board in fifth inning. James McCann, Niuman Romero and Tony Plagman were all able to make contact against Akron starter Danny Salazar to cut the lead to 3-1.

Salazar eventually got the win allowing six hits and one earned run in his 5 1/3 innings on the mound. He struck out four and walked four, and moved his ERA to 2.45 on the season.

Akron returned in the top of the seventh to put one more on the board with a solo home run from Rohlinger.

Erie didn’t take the two runs lightly and quickly contested with a pair cutting the lead to 3-2. However, Akron wasn’t finished there and continued to keep the hits going in the eighth.  Thomas Neal, who went 3-for-4, tapped his 12th home run of the season over the left field fence to kick the inning off.  Chen followed up with a double to left field. Rohlinger, who just missed hitting the cycle on the night, hit his final single of the outing making the score 6-3.

Erie put up a run closer Shawn Armstrong thanks to a line drive double from Daniel Fields, but the run wouldn’t be enough to close the gap.

The Aeros return home on Thursday to kick off a four-game series against the Trenton Thunder at 7:05 p.m. Right-handed pitcher Brett Brach will start for Akron.
