Launching Off With The Aeros: 8/28/12 – 9/3/12
The Aeros capped off their Eastern League best 82-59 season this past week and are now gearing up for the playoffs! Before we move on, though, it's good to look back at what the final week of the Aeros' regular season held for the team. Jesus Aguilar continued hitting, the starting pitching was (mostly) fantastic, and the Aeros won four of their six games. So Launch off with Jim Piascik and the Aeros to read about the week that was.

Rising prospect Aguilar is enjoying the game
Baseball season can seem long and tedious at times, especially for someone who has played nearly every day, but for Akron Aeros’ first baseman Jesus Aguilar, it’s all about enjoying the opportunities. Aguilar finished off another good developmental year with the Indians and now gets to have fun with his Akron teammates in the Eastern League playoffs.

Second Thoughts: Game #135 Indians 3, Tigers 2
The Indians may be scuffling since the end of July, but for whatever reason, they continue to play the Tigers tough this season and won another matchup against them yesterday 3-2. Corey Kluber put forth his most consistent outing of the season for the Indians, the bullpen did its job late, and Asdrubal Cabrera had two quality run scoring plate appearances. Adam McGavin shares his thoughts on the game.

Around the Farm: September 3, 2012
The regular season is nearly over, with Mahoning Valley straggling on for two more games, but Columbus, Akron, Carolina and Lake County all closed out their regular seasons on Labor Day. There are three familiar faces at the top of ATF, and all three are heading to the playoffs, ready to do some damage. Join Jim Pete for his regular season finale...sort of...after the jump...

On the Lighter Side: Getting to know your 2012 AZL Indians
The Arizona League is a different brand of baseball; there are no TV cameras catching scene by scene baseball, neither a peanut nor crackerjack man, no beer vendors and rarely even a grand stand of seats. The weather is hot, dry and some games are so quiet, you can hear yourself think. Fans rarely get a chance to catch the personalities of the players there since they are so far removed from "coverage", but Sean Mahon recently talked to a bunch of the players for a light Q&A to get to know them better.

Second Thoughts: Game #134 - Rangers 8, Indians 3
After the most futile month in team history, the calendar finally read "September." The Indians opened it with a solid victory on Saturday, but Sunday looked more like August again. Seven extra-base hits paced the Rangers, and the Tribe was again unable to keep up.

Around the Farm: September 2, 2012
All the affiliates lost on Sunday night except for Akron, who had their game called because of rain. Giovanny Urshela hit a game-tying ninth inning homer, and Dorssys Paulino hit his first Single-A home run as well. A potential dominating reliever and a power-hitting catcher stood at the top of Sunday's ATF mountain. Who were they? Find out , after the jump...
