The rookie Tribe followed the lead of the Major League Tribe on Thursday night as they engineered a big three run 7th inning in a 5-4 comeback win against the AZL Padres. The teenage Tribe traded in their powerful offense for a solid defensive showing last night as they did not commit an error in the contest after committing 11 errors over the previous two games.
He's baaaaaaack! The man we all grew to love (and sometimes hate) made his return to stateside ball last night at Lake County. I figured he was a shoe-in for the top slot, no matter what a recent draft pick (or anyone else) did, but that was before the massive offensive explosion in Columbus, led by a certain outfielder. As always, click the link to find out who he is as Jim Piascik takes you Around The Farm.
Roberto Hernandez made his return to the United States pitching for the Lake County Captains (16-16) on Thursday night. Behind a solid outing from the artist formerly known as Fausto Carmona, the Captains were able to pull out a 5-3 victory over the West Michigan Whitecaps (17-15).
After their season-high six-game winning streak came to an end last night, the Clippers started a new one Thursday night. Columbus rolled past Toledo, 16-2, following a split double header last night in which the Clippers lost game one before tallying an 11-10 walk-off win in game two.
The Carolina Mudcats failed to find a solution to foil the red-hot Winston-Salem Dash, dropping an 11-1 decision on Thursday night at BB&T Ballpark in the final game of the season series. The Dash (19-16, 63-40) finished 14-6 in the 2012 regular season against the Mudcats (17-17, 49-55) after sweeping the four-game series.
Double-A Akron outfielder Nick Weglarz has battled the injury bug the past several seasons, and it eventually caught up to him last season and the start of this season as his offensive performance took a nosedive. But he has gotten stronger over the course of this season, remained healthy, and made a few adjustments with his swing that have resulted in much better play of late.

The Indians rollercoaster ride of a season and inconsistent play showed up again last night as the offense was held to three runs on five hits, Derek Lowe was ineffective, and Asdrubal Cabrera made two crucial errors on the night In the end it all added up to a 5-3 loss to the Tigers, which means they have to beat Verlander today to salvage a series victory. It was another series of unfortunate defensive events for the AZL Indians on Wednesday night as the team committed five errors on the evening, a rather discouraging event considering their six errors committed the previous night. Shortstop Dorssys Paulino made his 12th error on the season and has 12 errors in 24 games. In all it led to a 9-4 loss to the AZL Royals.
Tim Fedroff continued his International League onslaught with a big doubleheader in which he had a hit in ever at-bat but one. Cord Phelps joined him with another hot night, Bryan Price had his best night of the season out of the pen, and Rob Bryson joined him with HIS best night out of the pen on the season. No beating around the bush though, ZEKE continues to hold fort at the top of ATF...
The streak is over, but the Clippers were able to salvage one of the two games they played against the Toledo Mud Hens Wednesday night. Columbus won game two of the double header, 11-10, after their six-game winning streak ended in game one following a 5-3 defeat.
