Launching Off With The Aeros: 7/24/12 - 7/30/12
Your Akron Aeros had a very successful homestand over the past week, taking four of six and improving to 65-43 on the season. The Aeros did it with names you may very well know from brief callups to the Majors (Juan Diaz) or big trades (Rob Bryson), but those two did not do it alone. Like every other week, check out Launching Off With The Aeros as Jim Piascik takes you through all you need to know about the Akron Aeros.

Indians acquire first baseman/outfielder Lars Anderson
It might not be the blockbuster deal many fans were hoping for, but the Cleveland Indians were able to make some noise (more like a whisper) before Tuesday's trade deadline. The Indians acquired first baseman/outfielder Lars Anderson from the Boston Red Sox in exchange for Double-A starting pitcher Steven Wright.

Rookie Notes: Lovegrove, AZL Indians pounded by Rangers
The AZL Rangers have one of the best teams in the Arizona Rookie League. The Indians found out why last night as they were pounded 11-2. The IPI's Sean Mahon was once again in attendance last night in Goodyear and shares firsthand observations from himself and from scouts on the performance of players like Lovegrove, Sterling, Cleto, Polanco, and more.

Around the Farm: July 30, 2012
Danny Jimenez threw out five innings of no-hit baseball tonight, a night in which two of the Tribe affiliates had the night off. Tyler Naquin rolled out a three-hit performance, which is made even more impressive by the fact that the Scrappers only had four total hits, and no walks. The top spot sees a three-hit game from a player that has struggled a bit with injury this season, but is really trying to return to 2011 form.

Scrappers offense flummoxed by Cyclone pitching
Rainy Lara had the Scrappers’ number Monday night. That is, after the first inning. They had a promising start, when Tyler Naquin doubled with one out. He was promptly singled home by Charlie Valerio to secure an early one run lead.

Jimenez dominates in Captains 11-2 win over Dragons
The Lake County Captains (19-17) swept the Dayton Dragons (13-23) out of Classic Park with a convincing 11-2 win on Monday night. Danny Jimenez (1-1, 3.38), making his first start of the season, set the tone for the Captains in five dominating innings.

Clippers fall flat to Red Wings in 7-2 loss
The Columbus Clippers (59-52) struggled on both offense and defense on Monday night, and that resulted in a 7-2 loss to the Rochester Red Wings (54-56). It was the Clippers’ second loss in a row; marking the first time they’ve fallen in consecutive games in more than two weeks.

MacPhee is small in stature, but hopes for big things
The Indians organization prides itself on building around guys who bring a winning attitude to the ballpark each day. In the 13th round of the 2011 Major League Baseball Draft, the Tribe found itself another one of those players in the form of Arizona State second baseman/outfielder Zach MacPhee. Working through a position change and inconsistent playing time, he has had an interesting season to date, and Mike Zavagno recently sat down with him to discuss it all.

Around the Farm: July 29, 2012
The Indians had a lost weekend in Minneapolis, but their minor league teams continue to plug away with some good and some not-so-good performances. In Columbus both Tim Fedroff and Ezequiel Carrera have been on fire, but the one player in the system who may be playing the most consistent ball over the past month and a half is Mahoning Valley's Joey Wendle. Find out about him and more after the jump...
