Sugar Ray Marimon scattered three hits over seven dominant innings as the Wilmington Blue Rocks beat the Carolina Mudcats 5-2 on Tuesday night at Daniel Frawley Stadium. Marimon (4-0) struck out five hitters, and allowed only one runner to reach third. The Blue Rocks improved to 28-29 while the Mudcats drop to 26-31.
oming into Tuesday night’s contest against Buffalo, Columbus was struggling on offense. Something about playing at home for the first time in almost two weeks changed that, big time. The Clippers (27-31) pummeled the Bison in game one of a four-game series, 21-3, setting a record for most runs scored in a game at Huntington Park.
