The Indians beat the Tigers on Tuesday night by a score of 4-2, their fourth in a row against the Motor City Kitties. The Indians once again played to their strengths as they got very good starting pitching from Ubaldo Jimenez, the bullpen was very good, and they were opportunistic with their hits. Charlie Adams chimes in with his second thoughts on the big night for the Indians.
The Akron Aeros conquered the New Britain Rock Cats 6-2 on Tuesday evening as the Aeros’ offense worked for 12 hits while their bullpen was nearly flawless. Starting for the Aeros was lefty Giovanni Soto (4-2, 4.07) who had received no-decisions in his last two starts.
Sugar Ray Marimon scattered three hits over seven dominant innings as the Wilmington Blue Rocks beat the Carolina Mudcats 5-2 on Tuesday night at Daniel Frawley Stadium. Marimon (4-0) struck out five hitters, and allowed only one runner to reach third. The Blue Rocks improved to 28-29 while the Mudcats drop to 26-31.
oming into Tuesday night’s contest against Buffalo, Columbus was struggling on offense. Something about playing at home for the first time in almost two weeks changed that, big time. The Clippers (27-31) pummeled the Bison in game one of a four-game series, 21-3, setting a record for most runs scored in a game at Huntington Park.
Some people say new is always better, but that's not true. While it's exciting to see what players the Indians are adding to their system in the Draft this week, it's still important to pay attention to the players already in the system. There's no better place to start doing that than with the Akron Aeros, who once again dominated the Eastern League by winning 4 of 5.
