Aeros win again, 9-5
The Akron Aeros defeated the Bowie Baysox, 9-5, Wednesday at Canal Park in game two of a three-game series. Gleason’s streak was short lived as the Aeros picked up the momentum and got the bats going in the bottom of the third inning. Second baseman Davis Stoneburner hit a whopping triple deep to the right field corner with one out in the inning.

Fishing for Mudcats: "Choking on the splinters..."
The Carolina Mudcats rolled out an 0-6 record during the eighth week of Carolina League play, to fall seven games behind first place, and likely end their hopes for a first half title. With pitching that dropped off the deck, and an offense that hasn't been able to put it all together just yet, Edwin Rodriguez finds himself behind the eight ball early in the season. Jim Pete and Beck go Fishing for Mudcats..Yo, Cut it...

Clippers get wild in extras, lose 3-2
The Buffalo Bisons took the second game of the series against the Columbus Clippers after ten innings, winning 3-2. The Columbus Clippers started LHP David Huff (3-1) as the Buffalo Bisons started RHP Jenrry Mejia (1-0). The Clippers jumped ahead early as left fielder Matt LaPorta connected in the second inning for his fourteenth homer of the season to put them up 1-0.

Mudcats sock the Rocks, 5-3
The Carolina Mudcats (23-27) took two in a row against the Wilmington Blue Rocks (24-26) with a 5-3 win on Wednesday. Behind a strong pitching performance from Francisco Jimenez the Mudcats were able to keep the Blue Rocks bats at bay for the majority of the night.

Captains get blanked 1-0
The Lake County Captains fell short in the first of a three-game series as Tommy Collier tossed a complete game 1-0 shutout for the West Michigan Whitecaps. Right-hander Joe Colon (5-4, 2.93) took the bump for the Captains against West Michigan righty Tommy Collier (2-4, 3.04). Colon was coming off a strong six-inning showing, during which he allowed just five hits and two runs at West Michigan.

Second Thoughts: Game #50 - Royals 6, Indians 3
The Indians lost the rubber match of their three game series with the Royals, 6-3, on Wednesday afternoon. Indians starting pitching for the sixth game in a row allowed at least four runs and did not keep the team in the game, and the Indians finish May losing 5 of 6 games. Charlie Adams chimes in with his "second thoughts" on the game.

The 2012 Transaction Rundown: May 19-25
Here is the (heavily delayed) transaction rundown with a look back at a week that began with shuffling in the minor league rosters marked by the return to health of hot corner prospects Lonnie Chisenhall and Giovanny Urshela, and ended with Zach McAllister's return to Columbus to make room for Juan Diaz in Cleveland and Matt Lawson's return to competitive baseball from extended spring training.

Second Thoughts: Game #49 - Royals 8, Indians 2
The Indians lost last night to the Royals 8-2, and once again Justin Masterson struggled with his command. He did not walk anyone, but it was the location of his pitches all night which resulted in 8 runs allowed on 9 hits. On top of that the Indians faced a lefty starter, which often spells doom for them. Charlie Adams provides his "second thoughts" on the game.

Bisons drop Clippers again, 3-1
The Columbus Clippers fell to the Buffalo Bisons in a close game Tuesday night, 3-1. Left-handed pitcher Eric Berger (1-2) started on the hill Tuesday for the Clippers, as the Bisons countered with right-handed pitcher Matt Harvey (5-1). The Bisons jumped ahead early with a run in bottom half of the first inning after first baseman Josh Satin singled on a line drive to center field driving in center fielder Corey Wimberly.

Led by shortstop Tony Wolters and left fielder Jeremie Tice’s three RBI’s each, the offense was able to pound Blue Rock pitching to help propel the Mudcats to the win.

House, Aeros shut down Baysox, 3-0
Lefty T.J. House and three Aeros relievers combined to throw a four-hit shutout Tuesday, as the Akron Aeros defeated the Bowie Baysox, 3-0, in the opener of a three-game series at Canal Park. Shortstop Ryan Rohlinger hit a two-RBI single in the second off Baysox starter Timothy Bascom (3-3, 4.12), giving the Aeros all the run support needed to win.

Around the Farm: May 29, 2012
T.J. House is dominant nearly every time he toes the rubber this season. The Indians are trying out Jeremie Tice in left field because his bat is just too good. Tony Wolters celebrated his Indians' minor league player of the week award with his best performance of the season. The top slot of ATF goes to a power-hitter that nearly hit for the cycle, without the homer? Jim Pete brings a top-heavy lineup to IPI's ATF...

Launching Off With The Aeros: 5/22/12 - 5/28/12
The Akron Aeros spent all of the past week away from home and it certainly didn't help them win any games. After losing 5 of their 7 games, Jim Piascik helps break down the week that wasn't for your 1st place Aeros. There were still some good things (and some long overdue/head scratching promotions), so come on into "Launching Off With The Aeros" to read all about the past week.

Second Thoughts: Game #48 - Royals 5, Indians 8
The Indians returned home yesterday after a beat down in Chi-Town which saw them get pound for 35 runs in three games and swept. Thanks to the friendly confines of Progressive Field and Kansas City Royals, the Indians were able to get back on track yesterday with a much needed 8-5 win. Adam McGavin has his "second thoughts" on the game.

Around the Farm: May 28, 2012: The Memorial Day Edition
Jerrud Sabourin continues his multi-hit barrage in Lake County. Zach McAllister returns to the minors and still showcased that major league talent. Kyle Bellows' bat has woken up in Akron, while Felix Sterling's arm has gone to sleep. The top slot in the ATF is a 'welcome back' not to a resurgent starter in Akron, who revitalized his career with the most difficult pitch to master. Jim Pete gives you the Memorial Day dose of Around the Farm...after the jump...

Sterling rocked by the Lugnuts, 14-7
The Lake County Captains (25-25) were lit up again by the Lansing Lugnuts (36-14) offense for the second night in the row. Lansing had 19 hits on the night, which provided plenty of fireworks for Memorial Day. Felix Sterling (2-4, 5.90) came to Cooley Law School Stadium on Monday thinking he would move past his last outing of 12 runs in less than three innings against West Michigan.
