Aeros suffer first loss of season, 2-1
The Akron Aeros faced off against the Binghamton Mets on Saturday afternoon and suffered their first loss of the regular season by a score of 2-1. Right-handed pitcher Steven Wright , who was drafted by the Indians in the second round of the 2006 First Year Player Draft out of The University of Hawaii, took the loss. Before retiring after five innings, Wright allowed three hits, walked two and struck out five.

The Columbus Clippers came out in their royal blue uniforms Saturday night and took game three of their series with the Louisville Bats by a score of 6-4. Captains jump on Tincaps early in 9-1 win
The Captains got rolling out of the gate on Saturday night and finished with a 9-1 win to take two out of three against the Fort Wayne Tincaps. LeVon Washington led off the game with a double down the left field line. Shortstop Francisco Lindor reached base on an infield single, moving Washington to third. Lindor stole second base and designated hitter Alex Monsalve walked to load the bases, and then third baseman Leonardo Castillo drove in Washington with a sacrifice fly to center field....

Carolina crushes Winston-Salem on Opening Night
An impressive six-run eighth inning scoring frenzy propelled the Carolina Mudcats to an 11-2 victory over the Winston-Salem Dash on Friday, April 6th. Shortstop Ronny Rodriguez, center fielder Tyler Holt and first baseman Jesus Aguilar combined for seven RBI’s. Aguilar went 4-for-5 with three singles and a two-run double in the bottom of the seventh that put the Mudcats up 5-1.

Akron pitching dominates again in 2-1 win over B-Mets
A day following an opening day shutout, T.J. McFarland pitched five innings of one run ball to beat the Binghamton Mets 2-1.
McFarland, who went 9-9 with a 3.87 ERA with Akron in 2011, tossed three shutout innings before allowing a run in the fourth. It would be the only offense provided by the Mets. McFarland worked around a double by Pedro Zapata in the fifth inning before handing the game...

Cook struggles in Captains first loss
The Lake County Captains dropped their second game of the season to the Fort Wayne TinCaps on Friday night in a 9-3 loss.
Starting for Lake County was Elvis Araujo, a 20-year-old left-hander out of Venezuela. Araujo went four innings for the Captains, giving up three hits, two runs (one earned), and one walk while striking out seven TinCaps.

Slowey pitches the Clippers to first win
Columbus, OH – There would be no two-game losing streak to start the season for the Columbus Clippers. No home run outburst by the Louisville Bats for the second-straight night, either.
The Clippers (1-1), won their first game of the season Friday night, defeating the Bats (1-1), 3-2, in front of 7,042 fans at Huntington Park in Columbus.

Espino to DL, Neal to Akron
The Indians have placed Double-A Akron right-handed pitcher Paolo Espino on the disabled list in Akron with a left oblique strain. He left last night's game after facing one batter in the third inning because of the injury. Outfielder Thomas Neal has been reassigned from Triple-A Columbus to Akron and will take Espino's spot on the roster.

8 things we learned from Indians opening day
Opening Day may only be the first of 162 games, but the first action of the season can often show us quite a bit. Masterson was masterful. Hannahan and Kotchman were slick with the glove. And Chris Perez was awful in the 9th. Jim discusses 8 things that he witnessed at the opener and hopes the good things continue and the bad things work themselves out.
